Molding and Casting Detail Parts
I've had questions concerning my resin process, so thought I'd add this pictures:
The parts to be duplicated are glued down to a styrene sheet. I use Legos to build the mold box because they're easy, quick and reusable. (and it's a great excuse to play with Legos without a lousy kid getting in the way)
The pressure bucket is not strictly needed for making the molds, but I've been called anal before.
The pressure pot works really well for getting the resin down int the really small detail.
Twenty minutes later a new batch of "detail" is ready to go. I get dozens of pours out of each mold before it starts to degrade. The process is easy enough that I don't fret too much when a mold needs to be redone.
